About Grit Media
Grit Media promotes the rights and aspirations of people with disabilities by creating opportunities to be seen and heard in a range of media productions. Our productions bring disability awareness into peoples' homes through the depiction of realistic, compelling and entertaining content, that encourages audiences to see disability as a natural part of life.
The organisation provides training opportunities for people with disabilities and aims to encourage the wider media industry to join our battle against a culture of harmful misconception and ignorance about disability.
 Our Vision
Increased visibility for people with disabilities in the media, by sharing their stories and their talent.
Our Mission
Grit Media works to advance the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities, through the development and production of diverse and entertaining media, presented and produced by people with disabilities.
 Our History
Grit Media grew out of the award winning community television program No Limits, and was officially incorporated as a not for profit association in 2005. Since that time, Grit Media has produced more than 50 hours of quality community television content, supported the development and broadcasting of a regular community radio show The Boldness on 3CR, and developed numerous other disability related media productions. Our latest project is an online accessibility social network: www.travellingchair.net.
Grit Media works with a number of other organisations including YDAS, Arts Access, Leadership Plus, Traveller's Aid, YMCA, Volunteering Victoria, VCOSS, Channel 31, RMITV and Impact Support Services.
